On February 12, 2010 I was lucky enough to be a part of Sheila Frank's F/W 2010 presentation at the FGI building (across the street from Bryant Park) I showed an installation which included designs from Sheila's collection, the installation was called "The Stalker Project." Below is some photos of the show, & some photos from The stalker Project. Sheila Frank’s Fall 2010 Collection Showing at Fashion Group International, NYC

New York City, New York (February 5, 2010) -- Currently in pop culture we see celebrities being stalked and harassed by paparazzi on a daily basis. We usually experience this phenomenon through the eyes of the paparazzi, while the celebrity’s point of view is lost in translation between capturing the image and the final glossy print staring back at us in the magazine. We willingly play the part of eager consumer when it comes to everything and anything attached to fame. Designer Sheila Frank has a special interest in this dynamic and chose to make it the focus of her upcoming collection.

“Death by Paparazzi”, Sheila Frank’s Fall 2010 collection, will show us how it feels to be modern day royalty amidst the chaos of stalkers, adoring and sometimes obsessed fans, angry outbursts and most-importantly the threat of violence. This RTW collection features the bold color combination of red and white together with patterns developed from dye splatters made to resemble blood. Sheila’s love of past eras is reflected in the Edwardian and Deco-influenced silhouettes. As always, Sheila’s Fall 2010 collection blends her appreciation of eras past with a modern day aesthetic.

We invite you to join us Friday, February 12, 2010 at the FGI building (across the street from Bryant Park) from 2 p.m.-4p.m for the gallery showing of “Death by Paparazzi”. This exhibition will feature live models and relating images shot by photographer, Meg Urbani. Experience the life of a celebrity as you view movie stills, photography, and Sheila’s newest designs all while being stalked by the on-site paparazzi. A selection of looks will be auctioned and the proceeds will be given to the American Heart Association. Sponsors include We Love Colors, OCC cosmetics, Kiss My Face, T3 (hair products), LA Fresh EOS (Evolution of Smooth), IZZE (beverage), and Sonu (beverage).

Hey Everyone!
It's been a while but I wanted to share with you a project I did with my Great Friend and amazing Designer Sheila Frank! We spent two days doing two shoots. Sheila and I worked as a Two woman team on this project and it was a total collaborative effort for both of us. We both styled the shoots & did the hair & makeup for the shoots (well one of them) For the shoot i am sharing with you we did not use any hair or makeup! It was beauté normale! natural beauty! And I have to say it was amazing not using hair or makeup for the shoot, it was very freeing & empowering. But on that note it must be said I have massive amounts of respect & admiration for the hair & makeup people I work with because without them I would be truly lost! but for this particular project it was nice to just do a two day project with my great friend

A lot has been going on lately!

reason for lack of blogs...

I have a new website... but it is still kinda a temporary site until my flash one is made, which will entail money, therefore I will not be getting that made for a little while.

I may be having a photo show in NYC, around August or September, The photos will be fashion images, with a slight film still quality to them... not like Cindy Sherman... The photos will also be showcasing Sheila Franks new designs which will be Victorian inspired. I am very excited about that.

I also have been contacting lots of magazines and have heard responses from a some, and that is very promising, some are international fashion mags, so I am very hopeful about that!

and the thing I am most excited about is, I will be going to Paris in a few weeks!!!

and I am going to try and do a photo shoot while I am there, what better then Paris as a backdrop for a fashion image? I am going to be visiting my friend Candy who is there... I am rather nervous about flying I have only been on a plane once and that was a scary experience for me ha. But i'm sure I will manage I will have my mac with and dvds and some good tunes.

I have been trying to Do two photo shoots a week, but like this weekend sometimes the weather ruins my plans. But I have one on Monday, and hopefully at least one over the weekend, as well as one in NYC in the works.

Busy, busy, busy....

But I would not have it any other way.

When I have free time I can't help but think that I am forgetting to do something.

So the past few days I have been really productive.
I finally found someone to make my site!!!!
so a not 2 years old website should be up soon!
and I dished out some dough to sign up for this service which helps you contact magazines,
tells you who is looking for photographers, and if they are accepting promos.
So hopfully that will help get the ball rolling.
Lot's of photographers I worked for used the service and it really paid off!
so i'm very excited!

BAMBOO = Amazing

I just needed to give a shout out to my Bamboo!

I got this for Christmas, and I have completely fallen in love with it!

It has cut my retouching time in half! that pen = amazing!!!!

I can't believe i didn't invest in this sooner. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who does retouching! Just needed to share/ express my love for the Bamboo. You can purchase it at the Mac store, and I'm sure online as well : ) go get it! now!

So I started a blog!

To Start off the photo above is the result of boredom. hence one of the reason I decided to start This blog! For those times in the day where I get bored. (love making ridiculous faces for my mac book pro!)

Hm, Well the reason I decided to start this blog, is because there is going to be a lot of change going on in my life in the next year. I suppose I just wanted a way to document it. I was trying to think of a cleaver name for the blog and well, I couldn't. So I was talking to my good friend dunker and he suggested. "Meg is the New Blog" I found that very funny because there is a celebrity gossip blog called "pink is the new Blog" So i guess I'm kinda ripping that off, but whatever. It was Dunkers Idea and I decided to go with it!

What I plan to do with this blog is talk about what's going on with me, as well as interesting things, my shoots my ideas, Behind the scenes, where my career is going...

Cool things that are going on, and there are a few pretty awesome things coming up in the near future, which I will write about when all the details are confirmed.

So Yeah! here is my blog, hope at least one person reads it that would be pretty rad!
